Enkidu "E" Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
This is a fabulous value for a Cabernet Sauvignon of this quality. The wine has striking aromas of blackberry, black currant and cocoa. This is a big, full-bodied red wine that maintains harmony and polish despite the big fruit characters. Silky tannins and well-integrated oak complement a long and pleasing finish.
The name Enkidu comes from The Epic of Gilgamesh, a Sumerian cuneiform text written nearly 4,500 years ago. In the ancient tale, Enkidu was friend to King Gilgamesh and was the steward of the land and protector of the animals. This small production winery sees itself similarly, as protectors of the land and vines from which their well-crafted wines originate.
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs excellently with red meats, pot roast, dark chocolate, and lamb.
