Wine Gifts For Guys
As Valentine's Day is right around the corner, we we've rounded up some awesome wine gift options for the guys. Because after all, cashmere socks and casual hoodies get old while these bad boys get better with age.

At Vinley Market, the wines that we curate for our wine clubs and wine shop deliver quality for value, and we always aim to feature small and often organic producers. We're pretty confident that the men in your lives will be stoked to receive any of the below well dressed bottlings. It's what's inside that counts and the California winemakers behind these pours rarely disappoint.

The wines by Kenny Likitprakong capture the magic that Vinley believes in - that wine is like a postcard from a time and place and a hallmark of craftsmen of an ancient trade. This Chenin Blanc comes from California's Central Coast but was inspired by Kenny's trip to Loire Valley in France where he experienced the wonderful clean minerality of white wines from that region. For him it was an inspiring contrast to the heavy fruit and oak of California Chardonnays, and it has been his mission ever since to evoke refreshing acidity and purity of fruit and soil in his Chenin Blancs.
From the old vine Norgard Vineyard on the Talmage Bench in Mendocino, only 277 cases of this white wine were produced. The grapes were wholecluster pressed into two concrete eggs for fermentation, and then left on the lees in a combination of concrete egg and neutral barrels for Malolactic fermentation. Citrus acidity and wonderful minerality dominate the palate.

The folks at Folk Machine have done it again! This is a lovely light Pinot Noir from a single, organic and biodynamic vineyard in Potter Valley. It is perfect for midweek and after work as it's pretty low alcohol for a red wine (read: less of a hangover). Still full of flavor, it's quite elegant and impressive, especially if you consider the price. Winemaker Kenny Likitprakong has a philosophy of tending to grapes in the vineyard, and then getting out of theway in the winery. The wine was fermented using native yeasts and is made of 50% Pommard clone grapes and 50% of the 115 clone (fancy!).

Winemaker David Potter sourced the grapes for this gorgeous Grenache from Demetria Estate, which is located in the prettiest stretch of rolling hills in Santa Barbara County, above Foxen Canyon in the Santa Ynez AVA. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, which means that organic, sustainable and even spiritual practices govern the process of tending to the vines. After tasting this wine, you can call us believers. The wine sings with elegance and complexity, with luscious red fruits, soft silky tannins, and a touch of earthiness and black pepper. The perfume of violets and cherries on the nose, and the bright acidity on the palate only serve to heighten our excitement for this fabulous pour.

Cruse Wine Co. is a small winery in Petaluma, California. Winemaker Michael Cruse is a young, rising star in the winemaknig community, known for making wine his own way with a true artisanal flair. This 2014 Syrah is from Charles Heintz Vineyard, a cool site near the coast in western Sonoma County. This vineyard is famous for Chardonnay, but it is also capable of producing exceptional cool climate Syrah. Fruit for this wine was fermented whole cluster, with punch downs carried out by foot. The wine was gently pressed after 14 days of contact with skins and then moved to age in concrete eggs. The wine was bottled without the addition of any sulfur or additives.

If you're looking to branch out from The Prisoner, this wine is it! The Pessimist is jammy and powerful with sweet dark fruits and hints of cocoa, vanilla bean and cinnamon - a real delicious, crowd pleasing, deep and rich red wine. Pessimist is made by the DAOU brothers, and the grapes are sourced from vineyards in Paso Robles. The The blend 52% Syrah, 26% Zinfandel, 18% Petite Sirah, 3% Tannat, 1% Grenache.
